Yash Update #3:Yash, where do you think you’re going? Y-Money took his first, few tentative steps this week. His major motivation is high pitched encouragement from his Dad and Mom. He still engages Super Pursuit Crawl when he needs to traverse more than 5 feet and nobody is watching. Zubin thinks it’s hilarious.

  • Yash Update #2: Standing up without assistance

    Posted: Wed, 16 Jan 2008 19:43:13 +0000

The young’n has been progressing at breakneck pace with his getting around strategy and technique. He crawls like a fast monkey on one knee and one foot. Now the cruising is happening wherever he can get a grip. The controllable thing about cruising is that it can only happen near a wall [...]

  • Acorn Assimilation Days #3 - 4: Pick up the phone, it’s my Dad

    Posted: Wed, 16 Jan 2008 19:34:07 +0000

The assimilation at The Acorn School has gone well to this point. Now we have to separate. I am beaming with confidence based on Zubin’s previous performances and shockingly charming behavior. Other kids were all over the place: one young lady insisted that her mother join her at the sand table from [...]

This is the education trade’s jargon for getting your kid to go with a bunch of strange (but fun) adults and other kids. [...]

  • Stroller-Side Sumatra: Oren’s Daily Roast Brings it to Your Rig

    Posted: Thu, 30 Aug 2007 16:07:35 +0000

Oh, the many times I subjugated my need for caffeine to avoid the dreaded stroller wheelie and door grab!! The BugaQuinStokke super strollers are heavy enough, but now that we have the Phil and Ted’s doppio: I relish ramps and automatic doors. Well, Oren’s on 3rd Avenue, which I frequent daily, comes to the rescue with [...]

  • Polycarbonate Baby Bottles: Avent venom

    Posted: Mon, 20 Aug 2007 20:33:53 +0000

Normally, I wouldn’t raise the red flag on alarmist, hypersafe parenting, but in the case of baby bottles I am choosing to do so. On the logic that infants come into contact with them every 90 minutes or so, and suck on them, vigorously at times, it seems like a valid precaution. I [...]
